Transformed is a very original novel set in modern times, though the heroine has been alive for centuries. Thea, as Mother Nature, usually takes the form of a deer, and spends her time saving the lives of other animals that hunters try to kill. She sacrifices herself for them, and then comes back to life in a different place so she can do it all again. After waking up in the same place several times in a row, Thea begins to think there may be a reason she keeps ending up in the same forest, and begins a quest to figure it out.

I really enjoyed the author's writing style, as well as the original story. The characters were well-written, and I thought the plot twist was clever and believable. Sometimes I have problems with epilogues, but I actually really liked this one. My only issue with it is that it ended! I would definitely be interested in reading a sequel (just based off the epilogue).

It started out a little slow, and felt a bit rushed at the end, but those were minor flaws. In short, I really enjoyed reading about Thea's journey.

What I liked I loved the concept of this book, it's different from others that I've read before. Thea is Mother Earth herself, and spends quite a bit of time in the book as an animal, and being human for her is harder than she thought since she doesn't understand them and their ways. She's only human to try and make Brice merciful to the creatures he hunts so he doesn't just hunt for fun, but for necessary food. The little pieces underneath the number of each chapter were also interesting to read, because we got a little story from them when they were put together about what happened. While a slow starting book it does pick up the pace, revealing things that even Thea had no idea about and ends up having to make tough choices. The book does have a lovely ending though, and I found myself pleased with it once it was all over. I also loved that while Thea could take on any form of an animal she wished, she generally turned into a deer, something that was peaceful and it spoke a lot about how she perceived herself. Also, her plan to make Brice become merciful didn't really make sense in the beginning, but since she wasn't familiar with Brice or humans in general it made sense in a way.

What I didn't like I thought Brice would be one of those characters who would show he's not a really bad person but he's really not that good of a person. Arrogance and narcissism are his constant companions. He also has no respect for Thea since she is pretty and, admittedly, a little ignorant on the ways of humans. I also felt like Thea should have been more assertive and confident throughout the story, she's Mother Earth. She's thousands of years old and can turn into any animal she likes. I felt like she should have been more comfortable with her other forms in some ways that she didn't seem to be.

Overall Review Transformed is a wonderful story, and although the summary comes off as having a love triangle the story is quick to reveal that that is not the case. This story features characters that are not always as they seem when you first meet them and can surprise you.

Recommend? Yes! I do simply because the concept surrounding this book is different from anything I've yet read! Definitely worth the read.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
This book was given to by the author in exchange for an honest review this does not change my opinion at all!

Ever since seeing the pretty cover (I man come on, it’s BEAUTIFUL!) I had to read what Transformed was about. Books about legends are always cool, I mean how many mythology books do we have about Greek/Roman gods/goddesses? I haven’t read a single book about Mother Earth, until now. E.V. Fairfall does a fantastic job telling us the story of Thea, Mother Earth who is trapped in a small town, her creations are constantly being hunted by Brice and his family. Thea sets out to stop Brice and his family from his meaningless killings.

What I Liked

🌻 The characters *cough* except Brice *cough* where all fantastic. I haven’t read too many characters who like Brice, left me with a huge frown and growing frustration. STOP IT BRICE! STOP BEING A BUTT HEAD! Aside from him, the cast was enjoyable to read about. I loved reading about Thea as Mother Earth, and how her feelings evolved and shifted away from her original goal! Plus, I have to mention, I totally ship Chamber and her )!

🌻 I loved how everything was explained in the ending. The book tied up all my questions in a neat, sweetly wrapped package. I felt like there were no loose ends, so yay!

🌻 Transformed had a unique plot that I would love to see/read more of! Reading E.V Fairfalls take on Mother Earth and her story was very interesting, and after a teensy bit* I could NOT put it down. The ending had me close to tears, it was sweet and all sorts of good.

*The beginning was a bit slow for me, but afterwords the story really picked up pace!

What I Didn't Like

🌻 Thea was a bit stubborn at times, this isn’t a problem with the book necessarily, it just made me mad. I mean why did you do that Thea? Why did you say that stuff to a certain person '(??? Mini spoiler! View Spoiler »

🌻 Maybe I’m over thinking things (I probably am, I do that), but isn’t her plan a bit over the top? I mean, her being Mother Earth and all and trying to get a hunter to love her, it’s a bit like loving your murderer O_O! Not a problem with the plot, just something I couldn’t stop thinking about.
Verdict

E.V Fairfall’s Transformed is a magical story about Mother Earth trapped in a small town. This book was all sorts of wonderful, and a quick easy read to get into. The characters were all done so well, and (most of them) were loveable. I would recommend this book to anyone with a love of nature (haha!) and a good book.
Great reading, keeps you interested to the end, loved it very much.......... can't wait till the next novel, good work E.V..........
This young author is amazing. I look forward to more of her works
While I had been prepared for the different view of Earth's creation and God I was not ready to be fully pulled into this true love story. The characters are marvelously built up so I could imagine the people. I was drawn into the love story and drama between all of the different parts of Thea's life. You will find yourself crying with her and hoping against hope that everyone truly gets what they deserve. I love this book and can't wait for another!!
