There are many compelling moments in THE HIGHLAND BRIDE’S CHOICE, where decisions made will greatly impact lives and future happiness. A couple is put in a position where what they truly desire seems beyond reach, and there appears to be no workable solution. But sometimes miracles do occur when least expected. Amanda Forester makes her medieval story delightfully enchanting with spirited characters and an intriguing premise.

When the Campbell clan laird decided on a man for one of his sisters to wed during the May Day celebration, Elyne was happy with the individual who would be her husband. Though they had never even met, she thought their sensible marriage would end up being the kind that she wanted. But upon meeting Tavish Grant, the cousin of her husband-to-be, Elyne begins to wonder if an emotional relationship might actually be important in a marriage.

The Campbell Sisters series is about three women whose brother wants them to marry, and the future groom of one sister has arrived at their home ready to be wed. Elyne had been all set to fulfill her duty, that is until she spent some time with Tavish, and discovered the pleasure of connecting with a charming man. I always like reading books taking place in Scotland during the 1300’s, as many potential marriages were between strangers for various reasons. In this story, unforeseen circumstances give Tavish and Elyne the opportunity to learn about each other, and the experiences they share raise numerous questions and lead to much soul-searching. Their scenes together are frequently amusing with witty remarks, while other situations are much more serious. I did become caught up in what would happen to this couple, and I was very satisfied with the ending.

The Highland Bride Choice A Novella Campbell Sisters Book 1 edition by Amanda Forester Romance eBooks Reviews

This story has a good plot, but the characters are flat and shallow. I was not drawn into the book by any emotional attachment or hook. It may also be that the time period of the 14th century doesn't really interest me, so the setting didn't hold my attention any better than the one-dimensional characters. This book is ok, the storyline is well done, but the hero and heroine lack depth. I didn't dislike this book, but I didn't like it either, so overall three stars.

** Clean romance with a few brief kisses.
Amanda Forester is an amazing storyteller. Her characters are such that you think 'if I came across so and so, I'd walk up to them and have a conversation'.
There's nothing perfect in this world and to read the storylines about everything they overcome to reach their goals, gives the reader an escape from whatever they are going through.
Thank you Amanda and God bless you and yours. Your books help me to put my physical pain a little bit further away from my consciousness.
Her books are thoroughly worth buying because they are definitely multi readable.
Happy reading y all
The story was well written and the storyline was well structured. The author drew the reader in and kept our interest throughout the story as well as allowing us to experience her characters many emotions. The story had intrigue, suspense, discoveries, betrayal, love, and a happily ever after.
nice. I loved the way faith was interwoven in the narrative without being hit over the head with it. Lovely couple. And it was nice to read about a highlander who was not interested in war or conquering anyone. He was a pretty nice guy, honorable, easy going, and sincere. He was also surprisingly well adjusted, and didn't have any lingering anger or personality issues. I liked that their friendship and romance developed naturally from common and comfortable feelings as well as working through a specific hardship they had to muddle through together. I enjoy stories where the couples grow together from spending time with each other, rather than the love at first sight plots. The attraction was clear from the start but they had the chance to know each other enough well before the HEA.
I am not a fan of novella's but when the price is right I am open to the idea. Elyne is betrothed to Grigor Grant and like so many marriages of the time it is for clan gain and not love. Elyne wants a love match but wants to do her duty. Grigor is not going to give her her hearts desire. He is very serious and does not plan to spend to much time winning her over either.

Tavish, Grigor's cousin, is the total opposite as he comes from a family who expressed their love. The question than becomes how can she settle for Grigor when it is his cousin that she wants. A very quick read and there is a cuteness between the H/h but with the length being what it was don't expect the aww effect after. For those who don't like sex written in their story it is left to the imagination.
I’m actually reading this novella series out of order, but in this case it wasn’t an issue. In this short story, we read about Elyne Campbell and her sense of duty to marry the man her brother has arranged for her. Elyne is willing to do what is responsible, but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t desire her betrothed’s cousin instead, the handsome and charming Tavish Grant. When a ride out into the forest to find some peace ends up with Elyne and Tavish stuck in an abandoned castle to hide from the approaching English, they are forced to work together… and to also try to deny their growing attraction for each other.

THBC is a short, enjoyable read in the Campbell Sisters series. Tavish and Elyne were extremely likable, and the reader can’t help but root for the two of them to be able to be together – especially when we come to know what her intended husband is really like (bleh!). The romance is sweet and a HEA obvious but welcomed. Amanda Forester has written several highlander books and other regency novels, and I feel like I will happily be working my way through them.
